“Pern” Author Anne McCaffrey – Passes Away At Age 85
Author: banrai
Anne McCaffrey passed away Monday night in her home from what is reported as a ‘massive stroke’. She was 85 years of age.
The author and creative force behind the Dragonriders of Pern fantasy series and The Ship Who Sang, McCaffrey was the first woman to be awarded a Hugo Award, and also the first to receive the Nebula Award. She published nearly 100 books, mainly fiction, beginning in 1967.
A remarkable author, McCaffrey prided herself on interaction with her fans. Up until a few weeks ago, she was still answering readers’ mail on her website. She was also a frequent face at many sci-fi and fantasy conventions, often invited as the guest of honor.
R.I.P. Anne McCaffrey, 1926 – 2011

Finding Other Furries
so I was in my college cafe and I saw this guy with an Anthro lion on his shirt and a girl with a Fox beanie. Immediately I thought "THEY MIGHT BE FURRIES!!!" I told the girl her hat was awesome, and asked her where she got it. she said she got it at anime expo. Alas, they weren't Furries, but it got me thinking... Fandom, when you see someone you suspect of being a fellow Furry, how do you go about asking them if they are?

Why can't we put ourselves aside and move toward progress?
To all the doubters out there, to all those who mock and pass negative judgement on the first thing that attempts to change the status quo, and to all those who promote the self destructive tenancies of the Fandom, I say this: So long as the Furries fight each other, and not the disparity of their situation, so long will we be a little people, a silly people. Greedy, barbarous, and cruel.

Help me find a shirt
I was at Disneyland and there was a guy wearing a shirt of man kissing a dog (or furry)... hard. Like it was a really deep kiss and both seemed to be really enjoying themselves. Both were pencil drawn, looked pretty photorealistic. Can anyone link me this shirt? or help me find it? That'd be awesome. Thank you!

Are there any bronies here?
- How prevalent it is for furries to also be bronies?
- How similar is your fursona to your OC pony?
- Would it be a decent idea to base my fursona off of my OC pony?
- What's your take on the misconception about furries and bronies being alike/the same?
