Unsuccessful commissions & Art
I personally haven't commissioned anyone, but i'm a bit curious.
Has anyone ever felt that their commission was underachieving, as an artist or either as a commissioner? Any kind of story is welcomed openly.

Overwhelming
So, I've been a furry for years, but I've hardly seen any of this community. Long story short, I have no idea what people do here on r/furry. I'm just asking for people to tell me what I'm missing

It is now my 18th birthday...
Colorful and Collectible. Of Course!
It seems to be a hot time to re-imagine 1980’s toy and cartoon lines for a the new millenium. Next up? Popples. Here’s the pitch from the masters themselves, Saban Brands: “Popples are fun, lovable, brightly-colored and adorable creatures that transform from fluffy balls to furry friends and back again. Saban Brands will re-launch the franchise with a fresh and modern look for a new generation of kids. The launch will be paired with a line of consumer products including apparel, accessories, plush and more. Popples made its original debut in the U.S. in 1985 with a Saturday morning television show, followed by a successful toy line.” Saturday morning, eh? Are they gonna try to bring that back too? Either way, look for it at a TV or toy store near you in 2015.
Well, hi /r/furry, I guess. AMA inside!
I don't know where I fall in the fandom, really. I've been interested in the fandom for a while, started browsing around the community more and more in the last 4 to 6 months or so, and only in the past 2 weeks have I really become somewhat active in the community.
I guess this is sort of a hello post. New furry? Maybe not, maybe so. (By that sentence, I mean I may be an older furry, or I may be considered newer, just to clear up confusion) Kinda depends on your definition. I bet you guys get a lot of these posts, so I'm gonna keep it somewhat short.
I've already made my awkward introduction, so next comes... questions! I have a few:
I see so many furry artists, of all kinds. Fursuiters, digital artists, writers, pen-and-paper artists, on and on the list goes. Do I need to be an artist to be considered a furry, or active in the community?
Also, well, what's with the hate I see on the internet against furries? It doesn't make sense to me.
Anyways, answers would be appreciated. Following questions, comes, well... I don't know! I guess this is where I start the AMA thing I promised in the title. Age, gender, life, (crappy) arts, Ask Me Anything!
EDIT: I was told by the wonderful /u/The_Ninja_Nero that I should probably differentiate myself if I wanted people to ask me things. So, let's see: I think the part about me being a furry is a little obvious, so I'll skip that.
I'm a military brat, meaning I move around the country every 2 years or so (USA, btw)
I'm virtual-schooled, for k-12
I build worlds, massive worlds
I'm going through my second bout of depression in the last 5 years
I have some interesting ideas for creations of mine (some tie into the worldbuilding)
Is this differentiated enough? Maybe a little more :)
I'm taking classes several grades ahead of my age. Honors, even
I know the capitals of most countries in the world off the top of my head
I want a friend

New Fursona!: Akage Morei
Hey I'm making a new fursona named Akage Morei and I'm hoping to get him popular once he's finished. I have an idea of what I want him to look like an I will be posting it later. In the meantime I do need help developing his personality, quirks, and other things about him....if someone could help me out by questioning me about him over kik that'd be great!
Kik is Furrygreywolf_

One serious question and in need of help. (Furries)
Hey Everyone,
I am new to reddit, please bare with me. I heard that reddit is good for finding answers to questions and with helping out people. Some background before my questions and the help I need. I am not sure whether to call myself a furry, I have known about the fandom for...maybe, ten plus years. I really do not remember because my fiance is the one who showed me the fandom (we were friends at the time). I thought it was cool, but I did not know much. That is, until I hit high school and after high school I tried to get into it because it was something that he liked. (Keep in mind this is all when we started dating.)
Anyways, when I started to get involved everything was fine. I met a couple of his friends that were pretty cool, but none myself. Some issues came up that I do not want to describe and I met some more of his friends. However, the other friends I met wanted to get a little too personal with me and they liked my fiance. I have dealt with many issues about people (furry or not) trying to break us up or try to get into his pants and disregard that he is with someone. I never met any real friends on my own and his friends shot me down. Calling me a horrible girlfriend...among other obscenities. I have just seemed to have a horrible experience in the fandom so far and I do not understand why.
I really want to support what my fiance loves and I feel I need help in figuring out what the furry fandom is and what it is really about. My questions are: what is the furry fandom and what is the fandom really about? Why is the artwork always so erotic where ever I look? Are there different types of furries and what are they?
Overall, I just want to understand everything. Please, help me. I have been with my fiance for years...since high school. I want to support this and understand it more. I need another outlook on the fandom than what I seen because I feel that my views may have been ruined by rude people.
Thank you for taking the time to read.
