FURS, THE ENTRIES HAVE BEEN GOOD BUT FEW! SO FAR THERE'S ONLY TWO AND GIVEN THAT THERE ARE TOP 3 PLACES YOU HAVE GOOD CHANCES! Don't let other submissions discourage you, I want to see what the community can really do!!

So a few days ago I proposed a design contest and everyone was all over it. Just reposting as a bump!

RULES: Exotic species! So no foxes, wolves, dogs, well known cats, horses or dragons. The gender of your character is up to you, and custom species/Pokemon are accepted *I would prefer if you design and I could keep the character with artist's credit, but if you have any objections that is fine!

PRIZES: 1st prize: $30 towards Steam! 2nd prize: $5-10 steam game of your choice. 3rd prize: A scribble of your choice from me. (Don't expect too much ;v; )

DEADLINE: This Sunday the 22nd at 7:00 PM CST! (Possibly extending due to the lack of entrants)

Either message me your submission or post it here!

French anthro comic: Solo, by Oscar Martin – book review by Fred Patten.

Dogpatch Press - Wed 18 Feb 2015 - 10:12
Submitted by Fred Patten, Furry’s favorite historian and reviewer. Solo. T.1, Les Survivants du Chaos, by Oscar Martin Paris, Delcourt, September 2014, hardcover €16,95 (107 [+ 13] pages). Thanks, as always with French bandes dessinées, to Lex Nakashima for loaning this to me to review. The setting: a bleak, war-destroyed future Earth. Think MGM’s/Hugh Harman’s […]

Weekly Writing prompt! Now with tails!

Furry Reddit - Wed 18 Feb 2015 - 10:09

Hello again, /r/furry! This prompt is all about tails. That's one thing almost everyone has in common, so I wanted to see what people can come up with. This is going to be really open ended, so have fun with it!

We all have bad hair days, but is it possible to have a bad tail day? Can be anything from forgetting you actually have a tail and knocking stuff over or getting it caught in stuff to how the world of furries is different with everyone having a tail. Be creative and hit me with your best shot!

Stories can be a maximum of five comments, and if it exceeds that limit, post a link to an external site! No erotica, but swearing is fine. If you have any ideas for future writing prompts, leave them in a separate comment so I know what you guys want to see! Happy writing!

Offering free art here!

Furry Reddit - Wed 18 Feb 2015 - 04:43

After being in an art funk for weeks I've decided to throw myself to the wolves ...wait enter the lions' den ...hang on throw myself under the bus bandwagon bus and offer free art to anyone who wants it to try to find my groove again.

Comment with a species (or ref sheet) and an action/hobby/job as a prompt and we'll see what I can come up with.

Creatures of New York City

In-Fur-Nation - Wed 18 Feb 2015 - 01:59

Making quite a buzz at this year’s Sundance Film Festival was a series of animated shorts made for television and the web, of all things. Animals is a black & white, minimally-animated series which “follows various New York City creatures as they get into awkward (and sometimes deadly) encounters with one another.” The series was created by Phil Matarese and Mike Luciano, two employees at a commercial production house who took some time off to make little animals talk to each other. Check out the Animals web site to see what the fuss is about. (Here’s a hint: Click on the clouds!)
