First, a little background information. I am currently taking an independent study for orchestra at my high school, so there's a lot of people I don't know too well. Most of them know I'm a furry or suspect it because I brought my tail in one day (I told someone that if she did something, I would bring the tail in. She did it).

Anyway, today, right after a concert, one of the girls in my class walks near my case. Conversation ensues until I jokingly say something along the lines of "If I wore the tail on stage, how long would it be before I got kicked off? " She then asks me if I'm a furry. Naturally, I say yes. She then says "cool. I am too. I just don't normally tell people because they are annoying about it."

I have known this person for about 5 months now. I was so shocked and happy at the same time. I only kinda knew this person, and I suddenly discover she's a furry. Now all I have to do is get her on reddit.

Since I got a lot of thank-yous for making this idea a comment, I wanted to broadcast this for the rest of this subreddit. Join your local furmeets if you have the time! I'm lucky enough to live in the DFW area and have at least three meets a month within thirty minutes driving distance. They're fun social gatherings of outrageously accepting people. (mostly guys, as you would expect) You don't need a fursuit or anything, just come as you normally appear. People that been around will usually wear con lanyards and badges of their fursonas to help identify themselves. Most furmeets I've been to have been filled with socially anxious people trying to make friends. Most people will want to walk up and talk to them as complete strangers, and let's face it, furries are awesome so you'll want to meet them too!

You might have to be a little tenacious in finding information on meets. I found the forum for Texas furmeets mentioned in the second google search result when I type "Texas furmeets". Lonestarfurs doesn't appear as a direct result, so look around!

EDIT: Forgot to say this, but I can only do sketches, drawing computer is down.

I'm rather bored, and want to draw, but I don't have anything I really want to draw... so give me your fursonas! I'll sketch them all feral and stuff.

If you're a bird, though, no guarantee that I'll be able to draw it, though. I'm rubbish when it comes to bird anatomy XD;

Edit: I should mention I'm probably just gonna do headshots unless I feel like doing a full-body sketch. XD we'll see what happens! I'll have them posted tomorrow. X3
