So! Anyone here ever thought “Man I wish there was a game where I could pretend to be my fursona, playing with others and working together somehow”? Because I sure have. Co-op games are relatively few and far between these days, and anthro games are more so… Especially if you’re the kind of person who maybe wants to play more than two players!

Well have I got a game to show you! Or at the very least, tell you about.

Space Station 13 is a free to play game with retro graphics, and immense depth, along with all the ridiculousness you’d expect from the internet, and perhaps a little more. The game is set a couple hundred years in the future, when humanity has taken to the far flung heavens in search of riches, glory, and a new energy source called plasma, also known as phoron. In it,you play as one of many employees on one of the newest stations, from bartender to doctor to security officer to engineer to researcher to the very captain of the station himself. The game itself runs in rounds that usually last about the length of two league of legends games(around 1-2 hours), or more if you do it right(Some servers regularly manage to run rounds lasting 3-4 hours.), with each person doing their job as random events like meteor showers, radstorms, and giant spider invasions do their best to make the station and everyone on board miserable enough to leave. (And that’s not even mentioning the fact that any player could be chosen to be a double agent from another station, sent to sabotage and steal, or any number of other antagonists.)

“But wait” I hear you interrupt, “Humans don’t sound very anthro.”

And while that is true, as it turns out, humans aren’t alone in space. In fact, there’s a good deal of anthro lizardfolk, proud felines, viney plant-people, and clever fish-like races. In addition, depending on what server you chose, there’s also birds and insect races. But of course, that’s not enough, is it? Where’s the dragons, and wolves, and horses, and various other fluffy critters?

That’s where I come in. As a developer who’s worked in the code for the game for around half a year now, I am in fact tempted to launch my own server. One with all these things and more!

Because you see, as grand as it sounds to have all these races, every server out there as of yet is either extremely anti-furry, or overwhelmingly “Meh” about it… But worse still, even the servers who don’t have a stance have a lore in which all the furred, scaled, and feathered creatures are considered to be below the so-called “Glorious master race” that is humanity… And as you can expect, most servers are filled with the scum of the net; heartless griefers, racist-slurring foul-mouthed morons, and people who just plain don’t care who they hurt.

As you might guess, after about half a year of this foolishness, I’ve gotten kind of fed up with it, and turn now to you, perhaps the most kind and friendly community I can think of. I not only want to show you this game, I want to make it for you all.

Though before all that, I must ask if I have your interest at all. It’s a well known fact that developers run on happiness, especially those who work and host for free or donations, so naturally I’ll be needing a group of people who’re interested in the idea. I have a hard time working without smiles.

Call her Riri. Or Riri Mon, perhaps. Either way, she’s an artist who specializes in the chibi side of things… and she’s spun that talent off into Little Heroes, a series of toony acrylic charms for the gamer fan. After a successful Kickstarter campaign they’re now available as key chains, buttons, and other wearables. Alright, I'm kinda curious. I know that I'm nowhere even CLOSE to getting a fursuit, but I'm still pretty interested. On that note, I have some questions.

How long did it take to save up? They seem expensive as all hell so I figured it'd take some time.

How fragile/durable are they?

Would you say it was worth it?

Also, what's your favorite experience wearing one?

I'd love to hear from you guys. :3

Not sure if this should go here. But I think I should ask directly from the people who are in the fandom than people who hang out in r/relationships, I don't want outsiders to think badly of people in the furry fandom since I know quite a few who are awesome people.

I'm not a furry but I have been dating this one guy who happens to be furry for about 4 years now (We're both guys). We met when we were just in our early teens but we did not date until later on. I have always known how he was into the furry stuff and I appreciated the form of art ever since. Until we started dating somewhere in 2011. That was when I was exposed to probably just a side of the fandom. Turns out his friends from the fandom wouldn't mind disregarding the fact that he is in a relationship and would still sleep with him. At one point one of his friends asked him if they could hook up and he asked me for permission, me being completely foreign to the ideologies of the fandom, didn't give him permission. My refusal broke into a big fight that night because his friend coerced him into believing that I was being "selfish" but then he compromised. Nothing physical ever happened between him and anyone else from that point. At least nothing to my knowledge. We decided to move in together shortly after that and sometimes, in the middle of the night when I wake up, I'd catch him naked, on cam, doing a show for some of his friends or sometimes he is masturbating to role plays he do over chat. At first I felt bad and wanted to confront him about it but later on, I decided it to just let it slide as I forced myself to believe it was harmless to our relationship.

Fast forward to many years later (I guess about 2 years later), I found out he's been out and about sleeping with some of his friends who are in the fandom. I confronted him about it, and he admitted to it. He also told me that he wanted an "open relationship", I decided to be an adult and listen to his side of the story and he said everyone he knows in the fandom are into open relationships and because of that he thinks he can't be in an exclusive relationship. I gave it a thought and after some time I decided to let him do as he pleases as long as there is complete information transparency.

It's been a year and more since then and I'm holding onto sanity for dear life's sake. I am a monogamous person but I made a lot of emotional adjustments and compromises for him but until now, when I ask him about considering being in an exclusive relationship, he would just sigh and he'd say he could never be in one. And the way his friends chat with him they seem very intimate and I'll be honest it sometimes make me feel insecure and uncomfortable. I am almost ready to give up on this relationship but at the same time, I am also still willing to give him a chance.

So I guess one of my questions is; is it really normal for some members of the furry fandom to follow this kind of practice when it comes to relationships of colleagues? I really want to understand. I guess it would give me a better grasp of the sub-culture or whatever and maybe a better understanding towards him.
