Bedford was born in Morley, UK on February 16, 1935. Primarily a stage actor, known for his work on Broadway, he made his Broadway debut in 1959, in the play Five Finger Exercise, directed by John Gielgud. Woah, he was gay? And he played a fox? The subtext here is...not. ;3
But yeah this sucks, it was my childhood. I broke the news on Facebook in the furaffinity group and it got near 200 likes, people didn't know. I should've linked to this article, bring more site traffic, but it wasn't up at the time. Bummer though, I wonder if he knew the fans he created...
R.I.P.

I still don't think I've watched the whole movie.

Not furry, but holy crap, the English thespians who helped shape childhoods (and starred in Robin Hood adaptations) are not having a good couple of days.
What the actual fuck. God, I think you're taking the wrong 69 year olds, Trump is still alive!!! ;w;

Bedford was 80.
Given the (possibly overhyped) connection between Robin Hood and Zootopia, it's a pity he didn't live long enough to see the latter film's release.
Perhaps he was just taking the obituary as a chance to reference Alan Rickman's death? Snape's gone too.

David Bowie, Alan Rickman, and now Brain Bedford. Death is certainly not being kind to the great English performers lately. :(
You left out Lemmy from Motorhead.

This Zootopia fan comic's meta-joke just got a lot more poignant.
You should have let him on, Nick.
Best Zootopia fan art I've seen.

Paws up if you had NO idea that Mr. Bedford was in a gay relationship. I feel kind of embarrassed...
"Tsk tsk tsk, we never ROB... we just sort of... BORROW from those who can afford it!"
*puts paw up* yeah I didn't know either. Maybe he subtly was introducing the gay fox stereotype in the fandom. X3

I wouldn't feel embarrassed about it. I don't follow theater so admittedly I knew next to nothing about his acting career.
The reveal about his domestic relationship was a pleasant detail for this gay crow.
Knowing now of Bedford's orientation, and that he has preformed in drag on the theater stage, will add an interesting level of subtext the next time I watch this movie.
Every town, has its ups and downs.
Sometimes ups, outnumber the downs.
But not on this news man.
