Bad Dragon loses business license over failure to file

Bad Dragon, the erotic toy company founded by Varka, Narse, Athus, and Raith, has had their business license revoked by the Arizona Corporation Commission.
The company failed to submit their annual business report, due last August 4. After the death of Athus in a vehicle accident, the report remained unfiled, and on November 7 was flagged as delinquent. As this went uncorrected, the license was formally revoked on January 11.
Update (Jan 21): The corporation has been reinstated as of January 19.

Fortunately for Bad Dragon, they can reinstate it - for $100, plus a $54 penalty for late filing, and the regular $45 fee.
That's not bad at all.
Not sure how well they do business-wise but that certainly doesn't sound like it would be a problem. I mean... I'm gonna assume they want to make it to all those conventions this year.
It might crimp their style at Further Confusion, which is starting today. They are listed as dealers.
Guess they could do a little black market undergound sales ;P
They're probably used to smuggling their wares in through the back door by now . . .
*snerk*
...It's times like this when I wish Flayrah had a "look of disapproval" button.
That, GreenReaper, is what we call an Incredibly Lame Pun.
I expected better of you.

Well, in the meantime, you can always do this:
?_?
Is this what you mean? =)
I was thinking more of something along the lines of RES' "look of disapproval" button, which drops that ?_? right into the editbox.

Isn't FC requiring a business registration for dealers?
I think I read something like this in their rules.
They are required to obtain a local (state) sellers' permit, which is free.
"Mr. Chairman, Do you believe that Mitt Romney has a big penis?”
Clone it for Bad Dragon :P
I gotta say, I know more about politics then any fur I know (not a good thing mind you), I don't get it...
If it any candidate that seem to have popular penises it's Newt Gingrich.
I can understand it being late after the guy's death, but it was due in August...seems like something that would be high on the priority list, I guess.
Curiously Bad Dragon has yet to make any sort of announcement regarding the loss of their business license. Im guessing their too busy with FC going on but I also seem to get the idea their not even aware of it. Or are they just sliding this under the bed in the meantime until...?
I sort of doubt they'd announce it, it's not really something businesses tell customers. My guess would be that they're doing behind the scenes work to fix it, and keeping it private.
Someone made a boo boo.

I honestly think it was more "one person in the organization knew how to jump through the hoops to keep things legal, and that person is gone". More than likely, Athus / Brian -- in his role as Secretary of BD -- was the one receiving all correspondence re: the corporation, and it simply hasn't been handled by anyone else.
Another thought of mine was that Arizona corporation laws require a majority of directors residing in-state and so they're looking for a replacement before filing (since they have 3 / 5 in-state directors it seemed plausible), but based on a quick search there do not appear to be any restrictions on residency.
WTF? How can you miss something like this?
There should have been some important last reminder in the mail.
This notification just came in:

Editor's summary: BD was asked to not show up at anthrocon altogether. Will not attend.
Does anyone know more about this?
Sounds more and more fishy to me.
Could someone make this up to spread FUD while BD can't react?
According to the rumor mill, Anthrocon's 2012 dealer packet includes a new rule that states, "Items of a distinctly adult nature whose primary purpose is functional rather than artistic are prohibited".
It's no rumour; you can read the Anthrocon dealer packet here: http://www.anthrocon.org/node/28/anthrocon-2012-dealer-packet
The relevant part is item "B" under "VI. Other Restrictions".
First they came for your cubs, then they came for your dildos, then they'll come for you.
*facepalm*
Oh god what did I just write?
I presume that this new rule is perceived as a response to complaints about the adult nature of Bad Dragon at Anthrocon (its true; just search the forums and your see). I guess they couldn't find any other way to get around this rule. I dont know if Bad Dragon will be grandfathered in or not though probably not. I have yet to find any official statement regarding Bad Dragon being no longer being allowed at Anthrocon.
A source tells me this isn't something new, it was just done quietly. Athus complained to the source about the decision being made that would lead to Bad Dragon's removal. Obviously this conversation had to have occured before October 11th.
From what I've gathered from seeing them at another convention, and behind the scenes things from that convention ..
They were told personally by Kage that they would not be selling dicks at his convention, ever, as long as he was in charge of anthrocon.
It was pretty to the point.
Welcome to AnthroCon:
Selling dicks? No way.
Admitting dicks? Come on in!
That's good, at least they're being up front about what they don't want for once. Not like sending a ban letter saying they were banned because "they felt the city it was held in was dangerous and we're protecting you from the perceived danger" passive aggressive ambiguity.
This is kind of a misnomer, they're still able to conduct "business", the issue is that they're no longer doing it in the name of the corporation (which was incorporated in Nevada which is why the corporation needs the license) but in their own name as proprietors and are fully liable as individuals for any problems.
