Someone in the media finally got it right!
I may faint.
That's a nice piece of work. Not terribly in-depth, but very balanced, and I love the fact the writer talked to another hotel visitor to get another viewpoint from outside the fandom. Sounds like the organizers had a decent media management plan in place. Thumbs up.
Not even a word about deviant sex, or cheap sensationalism? Whatever has happened to the press?
The reporter and his photographer were very well-behaved, too. SonicBlu told me they asked him if they could take pictures in the Headless Lounge (where fursuiters take their heads off and relax), and he said no, they'd have to wait until the fursuiters came back out, and they said OK and waited.
I also heard that both the reporter and photographer are SF fans, so it's no wonder!
And what's really funny is that I also heard they were invited to the hotel by a disgruntled ex-staffer as a revenge tactic. If so, it sure backfired on him!
I'd like to correct this.
As far as we know, the press was NOT invited by an ex-staffer as revenge. That's an assumption made by a few other staff members who have personal conflicts with the former staff member.
